Youghiogheny Glass

The Youghiogheny Glass Company manufactures a wide range of glass.  Recently they introduced a new type of glass where the opalescence is not produced with fluorine compounds as is the traditional manner.  The Youghiogheny Glass Company describes it as such, "In Tiffany's best executed lamps, there are subtle qualities in the glass selected for numbered and signed lamps which haven't been available since his time.  Youghiogheny Glass Company has been aware of this difference for many years and recently has found a way to duplicate these effects in production.  The difference between a traditional fluorine opal and the ice-like quality of the Stipple Glass becaomes very evident when  illuminated.

Always purchase enough glass at the beginning of your stained glass project as glass colors can change from one shipment to the next, and you may not find exactly the same color match if you need more glass. Glass manufacturers produce some colors as seldom as once a year.
